We provide therapy for the following situations
Trauma
Trauma refers to a deeply distressing or disturbing experience that overwhelms your ability to cope. It can be an event or a series of events that cause physical, emotional, or psychological harm.
Anxiety
Anxiety refers to a feeling of unease, worry, or fear, often in response to a real or perceived threat or stressful situation. Anxiety becomes a concern when it persists over time or is disproportionate to the actual threat.
Depression
Depression is characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, or a loss of interest in activities that you once found enjoyable. It’s a prolonged state of low mood that affects your daily life, thoughts, feelings, and behavior.
Self-Injurious Behaviors (SIB)
Self-injurious behaviors refer to intentional, self-inflicted acts that cause injury or harm to yourself. These actions are typically a way for you to cope with overwhelming emotions, distress, or psychological pain.
Domestic Violence
Domestic violence refers to a pattern of abusive behavior in a relationship that is used by your partner to gain or maintain control over you. It is characterized by physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, or financial abuse within an intimate relationship or household.
Sexual Assault
Sexual assault refers to any form of non-consensual sexual activity or behavior in which you are coerced, forced, or manipulated into engaging in sexual acts against their will. It is an act of violence and a severe violation of your personal boundaries and autonomy.
Mood Disorders
Mood disorders are characterized by significant disturbances in your emotional state or mood. These disorders can have a profound impact on your daily life, relationships, and overall well-being.
Personality Disorders
Personality disorders are characterized by enduring patterns of behavior, cognition, and inner experience that deviate significantly from cultural expectations and cause distress or impairment in personal, social, and occupational functioning. These patterns are long-standing and inflexible, typically emerging in adolescence or early adulthood and persisting over time.
Grief
Grief is a very natural and complex emotional response to various types of loss, including but not limited to the death of a loved one, the loss of a relationship, a job, health, a pet, or any significant change in one’s life. You may experience a wide range of emotions and reactions as you cope with the impact of the loss.
Phobias
Phobias are intense, irrational, and persistent fears of specific objects, situations, or activities. They go beyond the usual levels of apprehension or concern and can significantly impact your daily life and well-being. Phobias can vary in severity and can trigger strong emotional and physical reactions when you encounters or even anticipate the feared object or situation.
Suicidal Ideation
Suicidal ideation refers to thoughts or contemplation about the act of ending your life. These thoughts can range from fleeting considerations (passive) to more detailed and specific plans for suicide (active).

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is characterized by a cycle of persistent, intrusive, and unwanted thoughts (obsessions) that lead to repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) aimed at reducing the anxiety or distress caused by these obsessions.
Stress
Stress is a natural physiological and psychological response to demands or pressure from external or internal factors and can be healthy. It is your body’s way of reacting to a challenge or threat, whether real or perceived. Chronic or excessive stress can have negative effects on your health and well-being.
Self-Esteem
Common threats to self-esteem include: criticism and rejection, comparisons and social media, failure and setbacks, trauma and abuse, perceived flaws, perfectionism, lack of support and discrimination. Each of these may impact your self-evaluation of your own worth and value.
Treatment Modalities
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Through the use of CBT I intend to help address and modify negative thought patterns you may be experiencing so that together we can effectively change how you feel and behave. CBT is a structured, short-term, goal-oriented form of talk therapy that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The underlying principle of CBT is that our thoughts influence our feelings and behaviors.
Brief Solution-Focused Therapy
I will often utilize Brief Solution-Focused Therapy as it is applicable to various areas of life, including mental health, relationships, and career. It can be beneficial if you’re dealing with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, and more. The brevity and solution-focused nature of this therapy make it appealing if you’re seeking practical, action-oriented approaches to problem-solving and personal growth. One strength of this goal-oriented and pragmatic approach is how it focuses on finding solutions in the present and future, rather than analyzing problems from the past.
Person-Centered Therapy
You have within yourself vast resources for self-understanding and for changing your self-concepts, attitudes, and behaviors. With Person-Centered Therapy my role is to facilitate this process by providing a supportive and empathetic environment. You are the expert on your own life. My role is not to give advice or solutions but to help you effectively tap into your own inner resources for growth and problem-solving.
Trauma-Informed Therapy
Through the use of Trauma-Informed therapy I work to create a safe environment where you and I can work through past traumas. It is important that you feel safe physically, as well as emotionally and psychologically. This therapeutic framework is designed to create a safe and supportive environment for you who have experienced trauma, emphasizing the understanding of the effects of trauma on your life. I work to ensure trustworthiness and transparency through clear communication respecting your autonomy to choose throughout the therapy process.
I have come to understand the far-reaching impact of trauma on your life, including your behaviors, thoughts, and emotions. This understanding helps me address these effects in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
